Grief Ministry

The purpose of SLBC’s Grief Ministry is to helps individuals navigate the waters of life after experiencing a catastrophic event such as the loss of a loved one, being affected by a chronic illness, life after divorce or break ups, and other  losses that cause pain and grief.  This ministry reaches out to those who experience loss, so they will feel the healing comfort of God through the faith community. Six week sessions are scheduled periodically throughout the year.
When in session, this group meets at 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. each Thursday.

Spiritual Support Ministry
The mission of the Spiritual Support Group is to impart a balanced view of the strongholds facing each individual. We believe that we receive a greater hope to believe in our potential of being open and willing to admit we are powerless and have made a decision to turn our will and lives over to the care of God. Our goal is to break down all strongholds of learned behavior, choices of survival, and bad attitudes as these strongholds disable the individual from reaching his/her full potential of becoming the person our Lord desires us to be.
This ministry meets at 6:00 p.m. every Monday.

Heaven’s Pantry

Heaven’s Pantry at SLBC provides food to families in our community twice a month. On average, the Pantry provides non-perishable grocery items to over 100 families. The pantry is operated by volunteers from St. Louis Baptist Church and partners with organizations in Tyler and Smith County.
                     Pantry distribution times:
                                         – 1st Saturday of each month — 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.
                                         – 3rd Tuesday of each month — 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Health Ministry

The purpose of the Health Ministry is to create awareness about the decisions we make concerning our health and to promote healthy living, incorporating spiritual principles. The ministry focuses on maintaining and/or regaining the best possible whole person health — wellness of body, mind, and spirit — that can be experienced.

This ministry facilitates an Annual Health Fair, offers CPR classes, and provides information on various health topics for our church and community. Members are also available for needed help during services.
